Markel Canada Limited Updates Organizational Structure of Alternative Distribution Business by Welcoming a New Director of Digital Distribution and Promoting a New Director of Programs and Agent Brokers

TORONTO, ON, JUNE 13, 2022 /insPRESS/ – Markel Canada Limited, a leading underwriter of property and casualty, professional liability, specialty lines and environmental insurance, announces the new roles of Director, Chief Digital Officer and Director, Programs and Coverholders as part of its an updated organizational structure within its alternative distribution division.

Markel Canada has strategically compartmentalized its alternative distribution business line into two divisions: Digital Programs and Delegates. Digital distribution includes the small business portal Markel Connect and our soon-to-be-launched environmental specialty products portal. Delegated business includes Markel Canada’s delegated agent and delegated authority relationships.

With the restructuring of the Alternative Distribution product range, the best talents come to support its success. Markel Canada is pleased to introduce Sachin Rustagi as Director, Chief Digital Officer. Sachin joins us from Gore Mutual where he helped facilitate the launch and success of their online insurance product offerings. Digital distribution is a niche in the industry and Sachin’s proven track record that incorporates expertise in areas such as insurance, technology, sales and marketing makes him an ideal candidate to support our own digital distribution journey. . Prior to working in the insurance industry, Sachin worked in digital distribution for companies like Rogers and Home Capital Group. Sachin holds a BS in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo as well as an MS in Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. In his new role, Sachin will be responsible for supporting the success of our online insurance products and developing online business distribution. Sachin brings a deep understanding of this business and will be instrumental in plans to help Markel Canada achieve our growth plans and liaise with our brokers. Sachin’s commitment to mentoring, public speaking and engaging with talent who is on their own path through the tech industry makes him the ultimate helping hand in interpreting what our brokers have need and help provide and further innovate Markel’s growing talent for refined technology insurance solutions.

Marie Lenchuck, who joined Markel Canada in 2021, was promoted to Director, Programs and Agents effective May 9, 2022. This promotion reflects the immediate positive impact she has had on Markel’s delegated business, including expanding existing operations and improving operational efficiencies. Prior to Markel, Marie led national delegate program activities with increasing responsibilities at ACE INA/Chubb Insurance Company of Canada and Everest Insurance. Working closely with brokers, she develops and underwrites complex national insurance programs and ensures the operational rigor of a growing portfolio of delegated underwriting authority portfolio activities, including underwriting, coverage, pricing and ad hoc referrals. With experience in different facets of the industry, Marie will lead this division with confident decisions and industry knowledge that facilitate this particular type of business.
