The Icelandair Group is taking significant steps to align the company’s organizational structure to execute its ambitious strategy of sustainable growth, digital transformation and a focus on customer experience.
Business responsibilities are divided into two divisions to better focus
The commercial division will be divided into customer- and revenue-oriented divisions. The creation of the Customers division will foster a strong customer focus throughout the organization and continue to strengthen the Icelandair brand. The Revenue Division will combine the company’s network, revenue management and revenue-driven sales functions into a single division with the aim of realizing Icelandair’s full revenue potential. Each division will be headed by a member of the Executive Committee (Chief Customer Officer and Chief Revenue Officer).
Digital transformation a priority
Additionally, a Digital & Data division will enable the digital and data journey of the Icelandair Group from a central position within the business, led by a Chief Digital Officer. The division will support business units in their quest to develop simple and enjoyable travel for Icelandair customers and enable data-driven decision-making across the company.
A clear focus on sustainability and business strategy
Sustainability is at the heart of Icelandair’s long-term strategy and will be further strengthened and positioned within the CEO’s office along with the strategy. The Managing Directors of Icelandair Cargo and Loftleidir-Icelandic continue to represent the subsidiaries on the Company’s Executive Committee. Their operations continue to be essential to complement the company’s core business of aviation, seizing opportunities in the international air cargo and charter markets, and reducing seasonal fluctuations within Icelandair Group operations. .
