Covetrus Announces New Organizational Structure in Europe

This will help execute the company’s three-year strategy with a new management team for Northern Europe while providing a reset for the German and UK businesses.

Covetrus announced a new organizational structure within Northern and Central Europe to implement the company’s three-year strategy, ensure operational efficiency and improve the ability of the company’s combined sales teams to serve customers and to offer a reset to German and British activities.

According to a company statement, Covetrus hired András Bolcskei as its first president of International earlier in 2021. Bolcskei has been tasked with uniting all sales teams outside of North America, and this announcement accelerates that plan. Critical changes include the development of a new international management team and a focus on collaboration across UK and German businesses, as well as an immediate and strong reaction to recent pressures in these 2 areas.

Covetrus Germany will also move its DACH headquarters from Hamburg to Düsseldorf effective April 1, 2022. Led by Andreas Tschuor, DECBHM, Dip.EDSRHM, MBA, this site will create the DACH hub while strengthening its business capabilities, service customer and competitiveness in the German market. In addition, the proximity of Düsseldorf to 2 other Covetrus regions, Belgium and the Netherlands, will promote increased efficiency and operational excellence within the sales teams in these regions.

Covetus will close its Hamburg office on March 31, 2022 and Hamburg-related employment contracts will be terminated. Employees will have the choice to continue working with unaffected terms in the new Düsseldorf office.

Additionally, mirroring the model adopted in the US earlier this year, the UK sales teams and the Global Technology Solutions (GTS) teams and the UK and Europe sales teams will be brought together under one commercial direction led by Loic Jegou, Country Director and Vice President, Northern Europe. This will take effect on January 1, 2022.

Jegou joined Covetrus in November 2021 with 18 years of experience in the animal health pharmaceutical sector with Pfizer and MSD Animal Health. The UK business will improve service to UK-based customers by prioritizing the company’s ‘One Face to Customer’ approach. Additionally, Australia and New Zealand are following the same go-to-market strategy, and the GTS sales team in APAC will report directly to Simon Hellams, Vice President, APAC.

“These moves position Covetrus to win for our European customers and win for our global business,” said Ben Wolin, President and CEO. “I have absolute confidence in our ability to drive our strategy, to regain our position in the German and UK markets, to generate better results for our customers and the animals in their care…and to ensure success of all our teams and stakeholders.”
